Steve Josey

Football, Bowling, and Track - Coaching at EDS since 2014

Coach Josey is a native of Augusta and attended Greenbrier HS.  There he played football. He attended Georgia Military College and currently works at Georgia Bank and Trust.  Coach Josey has coached football and baseball at EDS and Columbia County Recreation Department. When not coaching he enjoys playing the drums with and without his band.

Coach Ammons is from Clark hills, SC.  He attended Strom Thurmond High School.  Growing up he enjoyed playing football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and golf. In high school, he played golf, football, and soccer.  He continued to play football and soccer at the collegiate level. He attended Grace University, Mansfield University, and Augusta University.  Coaching at EDS since 2018.

This is first year with EDS Athletics. He will bring passion and commitment to the EDS program. He was born and raised in Mobile, AL where he played three sports in high school; football, basketball, and baseball.  He attended the University of West Alabama, then later transfer to Quincy University where he graduated from. For both colleges, he played wide receiver and running back. He is currently a Patrol Officer for a Security Company here in Augusta Georgia. “This is one of the most important times in their lives to shape their futures. I am overwhelmed by the opportunity to get back to what I love the most and that is working with our children and sharing my knowledge as a previous player. When I needed to get back on the right track, it was the voices of the coaches that cared about me back when I was young, that got me through the challenges and it was because of those coaches.”

Coach Torreria era has been coaching at EDS since 2021.  He is the father of 6th grader Steffen and is a first-generation Cuban American from Miami, Florida.  Coach Torreira is a former minor league baseball player and has coached and managed baseball teams for over 18 years.  He was a scout in the Cincinnati Reds organization of Major League Baseball. He is a Strength & Conditioning Specialist and has also coached youth football for the past 4 years. Coach Torreira has been married for 20 years to an active duty Army nurse who has served our country for 33 years.  Welcome to Panther Nation!
